  • Launch of my new book Tales from the Towpath: Stories and Histories of the Cotswold Canals

For 150 years the Cotswold canals played a vital role in Stroud’s history. Navvies and lock-keepers, lengthsmen and leggers formed part of a vast and numberless company who lived and worked on these waterways. Their stories and associated folktales are brought to light in this new collection.

Three launch events:

  1. Stroud Museum in the Park, Friday 9th November, 7 - 8.45 pm: drinks and nibbles, the telling of one of the stories from the book, short talks about the book and the on-going restoration of the Cotswold Canals. Now fully booked.
Linked to the Stroud Book Festival.

  2. National Waterways Museum, Gloucester Docks, Saturday 10th November, 2-3pm: I will be telling stories from the book aboard the historic barge Sabrina. Free to all Museum annual pass holders (the annual pass is £9.75 adult and £6 child).
